1. The software

Lyncost is a personal finance record-keeping application. The Linux edition is free for personal, non-commercial use under the source-available license published in the GitHub repository. The Windows edition requires a one-time paid license.

2. Windows license

• A license lets one person use Lyncost for Windows for personal use, including future versions, for as long as the software is offered.
• Licenses are for the purchaser only and may not be shared publicly, resold or transferred.
• A refunded payment cancels the associated license.

3. Restrictions

You may not redistribute, re-host or sell Lyncost binaries, or remove license checks, without written permission.

4. Your data

Your data stays on your device and is your responsibility. Please keep backups — Lyncost creates automatic local backups, but we cannot recover data that is lost from your computer.

5. No financial advice

Lyncost helps you record and organise information. It does not provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and calculations are only as accurate as the data you enter.

6. Warranty and liability

The software is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Lyncost is limited to the amount you paid for it. See our refund policy for refunds.
